FREE Shakespeare Festival at Cascades Park

This year's production is Romeo and Juliet, performed in true Renaissance style at Capital City Amphitheater. Performances being at 7:30PM each evening from May 10-13.

The Southern Shakespeare Company is thrilled to, once again, bring their unique FREE Shakespeare in the Park Festival to Cascades Park. This year, the Southern Shakespeare Festival expands to four days and will join the ranks of some of the best Renaissance Festivals in the Southeast region. Visitors will experience the magic and mystery of our jugglers, illusionists, stilt walkers, and fortune tellers; the spectacle of armored combat; the taste of medieval food; and even learn a new skill, be it blacksmithing, weaving, or belly dancing.

The Kids’ Kingdom will lower the drawbridge for the young folks and all visitors will enjoy the multiple programs and performances leading up to the mainstage production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, performed in true Renaissance style, on the Capital City Amphitheater stage at Cascades Park. Directed by Michael Richey, this year's production of Romeo & Juliet promises to be as exciting as ever with special guest artist Renee O'Connor (from Xena Warrior Princess) as the nurse and her son, Miles Muir, as Romeo. See the full cast below and learn more about this year's festival program HERE.
