The Force summons visitors for a performance of music celebrating a galaxy far, far away! Led by Conductor Darko Butorac (aka “Darko Vader”) the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will present an epic evening under the stars, filled with the music of composer John Williams. Attendees will be taken on a musical journey from the world of Star Wars with classical favorites spanning the parsecs between Tallahassee and Dagobah. Whether loyalties lie with the Imperial Forces or the Rebel Troops, fans are certain to feel the Force through the power of music.
Florida members of the 501st Legion, a worldwide Star Wars fan-based organization, will participate in the performance, wearing screen-accurate Star Wars characters and interacting with fans. Attendees and Star Wars fans are encouraged to come early in costume for a chance to take photos with 501st Legion and Rebel Legion.
Spanning five decades, Composer John Williams is one of America’s most accomplished and successful composers. He scored all nine of the “Star Wars” saga films, winning an Oscar for the first “Star Wars: A new Hope” for best Original Score. Williams vast musical film credits include other classics such as Jaws, E.T. and Jurassic Park, and many more. With 52 Academy Award nominations, Williams is the Academy’s most nominated living person and the second most-nominated individual in history, after Walt Disney.
